What do you LOVE to hear?
« on: January 25, 2007, 04:18:59 PM »
This is sort of like those threads where you write down your pet peeves, or phrases that annoy you and stuff.  Only the opposite.

What gestures and phrases make you feel really, really good.  I mean, really warm and fuzzy inside, not just, "Oh, how nice!"

Like for me, I loved the 3D film "Captain EO" that used to play at Epcot and Disneyland and all the other Disney Parks until about 1993-1998.  And this was about the time I was working there (last May-last month) so I went on Ebay and found this doll that looked like the little shoulder monkey that was always sitting on the captain's shoulder, bought it, and put it on my own shoulder.  Then I would go to the parks with it sitting there.  Sometimes people would look at me and say, "Did you know you got something on your shoulder?" and I would just squeal inside.  I don't know why- it made me feel so good!
One time I was in Tomorrowland, and the roaming, talking trash can named Push came up to me and said that.  Let me tell you, there's nothing good that can be said that can't be made better coming from such an adorable trash can.

So, what do you love to hear?  What makes you feel really great?

"I love you." (from someone I love)
"You were very helpful."
"I appreciate your hard work."
"Take the day/time off-you earned it!"
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

"I love you."

"You are so creative!"

"Thank you." (Have to add a particular one here: Chip always thanks me for dinner, even if it's only a grilled cheese sandwich.)

"Please."

"You look nice!" or "That color is great on you!" or "That outfit is so 'you'!"

"How are you doing?" (From those who know I have/have had so many health problems.)

"I love the [insert gift] you made for me!"

And … drumroll …

"Would you like a Coke?"

LOL!!

Godzilla's roar. No, seriously, I love it.

Piccolo's voice. I don't care what he's saying, it's sexy :P

Any kind of compliment makes me feel good.

Ok, mine is weird. Our local Chick-fil-a's are the epitome of customer service. And I love that the kids who work the counters all look like they are 12 (they are likey 15 though, lol). Everytime I go to Chick Fil A and tell an employee "thank you" they ALWAYS reply with "my pleasure!" And I just get a little thrill inside when they say that. I know it's what they are trained to say, but they always sound so sincere, and I just think "You know, these are kids who are going to know how to provide GREAT customer service for the rest of their lives." And, as a Customer service guru ( ;D ) I just LOVE that.

Also, when my boys say so sincerely how much they love me. I hear "I love you" all the time, and that's wonderful but the warm and fuzzy feeling comes when it's a surprise and you can tell they were just thinking about it and wanted to tell me. I have great boys :)

I love to hear a genuine compliement.

I also love to hear that I'm appreciated and that I'm doing a good job.

Statements that I love from family and DH, but are weird from most other people:

I love you

I'm proud of you

Just another reason why Chip loves Chic-fil-a. They rarely get his order wrong, too, which he also appreciates.

I like to make people laugh. There is nothing I love more than making someone laugh long loud and hysterically. Especially my hubby, be laughs with his whole body, and he's good to get all out of breath too.
I also like to hear "Thanks for your help" and "I love you" from people who really love me. I have a friend who tells me he loves me every day, it's a real boost.
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

:) I like dinosaur noises. One of my nicknames/screen names is innerdinosaur becuase I am my inner child, so i got an innner dinosaur instead. The baby T-rex noises in the beginning of Jurassic Park sounds just like what i had always thought my dinosaur sounds like.
It's alright, man. I'm only bleeding, man. Stay hungry, stay free, and do the best you can.
