Today is Friday 26th January..Australia Day..kinda a combo of when NSW was founded as a colony, then linked back to the First Fleet(Captain Cook etc)..but just a celebration of Australia and what it is to be Australian and living in the 'Lucky Country'.

Anyhow, just a couple of weeks ago i joined a local club(Penrith Panthers,Rugby League Club)where like most clubs, members and their guests can go to have a meal and a few drinks, play the poker machines,go see a show, raffles etc
I was then sent a letter saying i was one of 20 people(for that particular day)chosen to go into a draw to win a holiday(to WA..Western Australia,worth $AU12,500,and $5000 spending money)or one of 15 others to win $150.
I said to my husband that we should go to the club and put my name in,wait for the draw to happen then go and get some dinner, let our daughter play in the kids play area etc.
So glad we did!!
We didnt win the wonderful holiday..but i was first drawn to win one of the $150!!
Yay for me..i never win anything!!*LOL*
The theatre room was packed,so it was anyones win..but i was one of the lucky 15.
Best Australia Day ever! ;D

We had dinner afterwards, and just got whatever we wanted*S*
With the rest of the money,i'll go towards fees for preschool for my daughter and i'll also get her a pair of shoes or 2.
thanks! :)

Sounds awesome!
I never win anything at raffles or the lotto or any of that. The last raffle I won was one at work, where I got a 2006 calendar of puppies. I always have 5-6 calendars, and I'm not a big dog person, so I ended up giving the calendar to a friend.
