Tim, please make up your mind!
« on: December 06, 2007, 09:11:12 PM »
Dress rehearsal for our Christmas musical was tonight. I'm still reeling!

First, Tim said, "The praise team will start 'The Sounds of His Love' and y'all will come in at measure 45."  ??? Uh, no. He said that once or twice back in September and then changed his mind, saying that the entire choir was going to sing it. Tonight he changed it back. Then he decided everyone would sing it as we process.

Then, he couldn't decide how we wanted to process. First row first or back row first. We were in the vestibule not knowing what we were doing or how to line up, actually arguing about it. Finally he came back to straighten things out, and after numerous contradictory instructions, got our procession right. And we were supposed to start singing the song as soon as the praise team started singing. It was a little offbeat (literally) but I guess it worked.

Then he changed his mind about having a sign-up sheet for the meal we're having Saturday before the performance. Last night: Yes, a sign-up. Then he told me he'd already told the youth leader (in charge of the meal) to expect about 40. I asked, "Then why the sign-up?" So he decided, no sign-up sheet. Tonight he asked why only a few people had signed the sheet. What sheet? ??? Someone wisely suggested a show of hands as to who will eat on Saturday. He accepted that.

Tim is like me, he is "interestingly organized." But tonight I honestly felt I was in a cyclone full of bits of sheet music spinning around my head.

I'm so glad that our performance is this weekend and we only have to perform this thing two more times. *SIGH*
