"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people."

Perhaps the same could be said of a forum.

Can you contact the post office and ask the postmaster or the appropriate party the names of the workers who service your house?  Then you could leave $5 for each person.

This assumes that the workers are allowed to accept gifts from the people they deliver mail to.  I assume that you checked that out when you started doing this.  If you didn't, I'd do so.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

Postal workers are not allowed to accept a cash gift of any amount.  They can accept gift cards or certificates for $20 or less.

Unless you are on a rural route your delivery person probably changes a lot.  I wouldn't leave any sort of gift unless I knew the employee pretty well.

I'm glad to hear you say this because it has never occured to me to leave anything for a postal worker, nor for anyone else.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

When dh was on a regular route he used to get loads at Christmas, it really shocked me.  Not sure why seeing as our daughter was born in the November and he'd come home with baby outfits and teddy bears from some of his regulars (who still talk to him and at least one gives Christmas cards when he hasn't worked for the Post Office for 4 years and the year before was on sick coverage).

He loved the cakes more though (and as he had breakfast at the house that cooked for him every Saturday he felt fine eating the mince pies she chased him down the street to take).

That said I'd never considered tipping them before.  He did said though the majority of people who tipped where the ones who always had loads of packets - the person who marked for exams or who ran businesses from home
