Photos as presents

Money is extremely tight this year and most people aren't getting gifts at all.  I am of course getting something for MIL and GMIL though.  They've both been asking for wedding pictures for about 8 years now, since they have no pictures of the two of us at all.

I picked three gorgeous pictures, one of the two of us during dh's toast and we're both crying our eyes out; one of the two of us, his little sister who was 10 at the time, and my flower girl who was 3; the last is a family/wedding party shot.  The family shot isn't my favorite of me but MIL looks great, the SILs look great, and most everyone else is passable.

My problem is that GMIL isn't in the family picture.  We had a professional photographer at the wedding but he wasn't a wedding photographer so he didn't get a lot of the traditional shots.  We have some candid family pictures with GMIL but she looks awful in all of them.

My question is, do I give her the picture without her in it, or do I give her the picture that she looks bad in?  If it matters at all she's pretty vain.

I would give her the shots you've picked, and let her know that there are some others that she may wish to get.  Maybe bring along a little album with them in, and say "Hey GMIL, why don't you come over here and look through these extra photos with me.  If you want any of them, I'll get extras printed for you."

fabulous idea! thank you.  i think i'll go ahead and make some extra prints for both her and MIL and stick them in a cheap album.
