Toaster Queen strikes again!
« on: December 09, 2007, 02:57:18 PM »
So, since TQ made such a big deal about getting a toaster, I sent her one for Christmas! I know, but hear me out. I sent her the most inexpensive one I could find, it just happened to do bagels, $20 for said toaster. Since she lives in Alaska, I emailed her a note that said, "Hey, just so you know, I bought your Christmas gift on Target today, it will be sent to you. I just want to let you know to watch the mail." I was worried it would get lost since that has happened already a couple of times with her mail in Alaska. I also had the gift wrapped with a note that said "Merry Christmas, to Mr and Mrs. TQ.

4 days later, I receive a thank you card (i was surprised how fast it got there!) Get this... on her WEDDING thank you notes! I figure, ok, maybe she didn't have any cards. Then I read inside it. "Thanks for the late wedding gift! Where was my Christmas present? I don't want something for the house!"  :o

So, I sent her an email telling her if she didn't want her Christmas gift, to sent it back, I'd use it. Also that I won't be sending HER anymore gifts. If I sent something it would be something her DH could enjoy/use. Also, that with her attitude I might not send ANYTHING again.

Her response? "I was JUST kidding!"

Somehow, I don't think so...

That girl sure has gall, that's for sure.

I don't think she was kidding either.

Eek. Can you say "passive-aggressive?"

I think Toaster Queen just redefined the word "nervy."

Do not under any circumstances send her any gift other than a card in the future.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.  ::)

I've known her since 3rd grade, I see her as a sister, and I put up with a lot from family, so I imagine that has something to do with it. Though, I do stand up to her, its just not as interesting :) Her mom loves that I tell her where she can stick her attitude.

Some "thank you" note.  Many a truth is said in jest.

Well, you did your duty and came through with the toaster.  Your job is done here.

Wow....  :o

I'm with the rest who are of the opinion that she wasn't joking.  She's trying to save the relationship so she gets more gifts.  Did she send you anything for Christmas?

That's a contender for Worst Thank-you Note Ever.

I'm trying to remember, but didn't you already get her a wedding gift? Interesting, she thinks she gets to dictate the kinds of presents she gets for Christmas?

I can't wait to hear what happens when you don't give her something for her birthday, is that evil of me?

i think that even rivals the one i got from a bride 1 year and 1 week after the wedding...in the TY she mentioned the marital problems she & the groom have had since the wedding, including her throwing him out twice and him moving out once.  ::)

That would be awesome! She's black too. :)

Did she send you anything for Christmas?

She has told me about 12 times she has, but she hasn't mailed it. I don't have any hopes up. ::)

I made her 2 scrap books as wedding gifts because I was tapped out by the time all her parties were over. Her birthday is New Years Eve, every year I hear about how people give her fewer xmas gifts and fewer b-day gifts because of this. I don't plan on sending her a gift for her birthday. It could be interesting.

Any bets that she will hold onto your present until you send her one?

About her birthday, at least we won't have long to wait to hear about it!  >:D
