A Website Recommendation
« on: January 28, 2007, 05:44:08 PM »
Okay, I have been posting at a new site (I know, I am basically committing adultery) so I'm not here as much. It's www.crimelibrary.com and I have to tell you that the main page stories are fabulous if you like true crime. It's like getting a whole true crime book in about a fifteen minute read. All the highpoints and even some criminals who never get ink. They had a thread about a man who committed some highly publicized crimes in my hometown (due to the nature of these crimes I think it best that I be vague on this board. If anyone's curious, PM me) who you never hear about outside of my hometown. And even then, most people stopped talking about him twenty years ago.
If you do not like true crime, or you squick easy or scare easy, PLEASE do not go here!!! PLEASE!!! But if you're an Anne Rule junkie, or Aphrodite Jones or Jerry McGinness, you'll be in love. I'm on the message boards under the same screen name. If you decide to lurk, be sure you check out the safety thread on "Young Women/Victims of Violence". It's worth marking and remembering.
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Great.  Just great.

I'd spent work hours on this site years ago and now you've reintroduced me to it.

And I read something tonight that means I'm going to have to watch some Cartoon Network or something equally fluffy and non-threatening to get it out of my head before I go to sleep!!!!  All your fault, I tell you!  :P

That site is awesome.  I am so not going to be able to sleep tonight, but I don't mind.  Thanks for sharing!

Read the story about Carlton Gary. One of those crimes took place two doors up from our house when I was little and they all occured within a two-three miles radius of my house.

CRUD MONKEYS! that's really creepy!  Do you feel odd when you visit your childhood home because of that?  I bet your parents must have been terrified.

Thanks for the website info. I take it you have probably also read 'Mindhunter', written by former FBI agent John Douglas. It's an excellent read about criminal and FBI psychology. That guy sure knows what is going on in some criminal's minds, and he was able to bust a lot of them as a result. Of course it also lead to some sleepness nights, though. It's hard to read about what happens to some fellow human beings.

Is that the off-shoot from CTV forums?    I joined that one and haven't really done any posting there.  I  wanted to read/discuss the Lindbergh Baby case as I never really believed the guy they caught was guilty.    BTW.... Charles Lindbergh was a distant cousin of mine.

Crime Library is an incredible site, I especially like the old stories.  I think this one is the best...

http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/unsolved/kingsbury/index_1.html

I'm not to sure about the new news section though, a lot of those stories seem like an invasion of privacy.
