H2B: About $150 not including the $100 concert tickets we bought each other as a Christmas present
Parents and 3 sisters: About $50 each but it can be less depending on what I get them
H2B's parents and brother: He got them $50 gift cards since we had to post them.

Grandparents just get cards as do aunts and uncles, cousins etc. I bake food for the family get together for everyone to share.

As for friends we have an agreement to not get presents, we just meet up and have a drink instead

I have no children, which greatly affects my level of generosity to the rest of my family.

Mom/Dad: $40-50 each
Sisters (2) and BIL: $35 each
Roommate and Best Friend: $50 each
Nieces (2): $35 each
Extended Family Member (we draw names): $35 is the spending cap
Fiance (this is where I go a little crazy):  I don't have a budget; I just buy him stuff until I run out of ideas or money.   ;)  This year I spent about $300 on him.

I think "reasonable" is "what you can comfortably afford to give."  I love the people I buy gifts for, but I will not eat ramen noodles for a month or whatever so I can afford to buy them such-and-such gift.

I spend the most on DH.  We always have our set amount, and I ALWAYS go over it - he's so easy to shop for!  I keep finding things that I know he'll love.

We also have a certain amount that we spend on our parents, siblings, niece, and so on.  I have a black-belt in finding deals, and I can almost always find something great for less.  (I recently discovered that Menard's is actually a pretty cool place to go if you need to get gifts - I've picked up cool calendars and so on for like $4.)

For me, it changes year to year.
BUT, I've been trying to keep gifts for kids (all 6 and under) to $10 or less each. And somehow it always works wonderfully.

I guess that our total gift-giving tab totals about $900-$1000 for everyone, which includes roughly 9 family members, 5 Dirty Santa exchange gifts, 5 employees, 7 family friends, and 12 people like school teachers, bus drivers, Sunday school teachers, and neighbors.

The price of the gifts varies from about $8 for the least expensive to $75 for the priciest item.
