Dorm Room Chronicles- Share your story!
willow08:
A thread in the classics folders seemed to stir some "fond" reminiscing about dorm life. I thought everybody might like to share their bad roommate stories. I had 50-50 luck with roommates. I shared rooms with my best friends my sophomore and senior years and it worked out great. However ...
Roommate A and I had some issues from the beginning, including her not liking the fact that I didn't have a car, which was understandable. But I didn't like the fact that she was on the phone with her long-distance boyfriend at all hours of the night when I was trying to sleep five feet away. It all sort of came to a head in the spring semester.
One afternoon I had to give her some bad news that was in no way my fault, she shrieked and threw her very heavy keychain across the room. My head was kind of in the way. I felt bad about her situation, but I also felt pretty bad about my spanking new contusion.

Oh my, what an interesting roommate. I laughed out loud, sorry about the head injury though.

We had the drama queen RM my senior year of college. L, G, M and I were in the same club on campus and decided to get an on campus apartment together. G and I room together and L and M stayed in the same room on our apartment campus.
We didn't know M that well before we all moved in together. M and L became really close, while G and I remained on friendly terms with her at the beggining of the semester at least. M was very disorganized. She worked at a clothing store and got a new item every week with the store discount which was great for her, but the clothes ended up on the floor. You couldn't even see the carpet on her half of the room.
Story #1.
M was known for her fits and the tiniest thing would upset her. One time her bf called and said his car broke down and couldn't come to see her that weekend. G recieved the phone call and was afraid to tell M. Of course when M did come home, she runs in her room screaming and crying when she was told the news. M also had a crying fit when 1. the restaurant she wanted to go to was closed 2. when she couldn't find a pair of shoes to go with an outfit she didn't want to wear 3. in the middle of campus after she didn't understand what her professer was trying to teach in math.
Story #2.
At the end of the semester M was going to move into another apartment. L already left and G and I were cleaning up. G and I were working, but joking and having a good time to which M proceded to roll her eyes and tell us to be quiet. She then tried to say she should get all the food and good stuff because she was moving and then tried to leave us with all the junk which we would have to haul to the dumpster.

Never lived in a Dorm, but when I was in vet school we were on a practicum for 2 weeks, assigned to a cattle ranch. We stayed in a hotel/resort type thing that had 2 bedrooms with 5 beds each, and a common living area. So 5 girls stayed on 1 side and 5 guys on the other, and the guys had a party, and started drinking. I went to get water for the guys, and when I got back they all went to bed. Six months later I am home with mom developing film of all the cute little calves... and... all 5 of my housemates NAKED. Naked and running around. Naked and standing next to some of the females, who were SLEEPING... naked naked naked. I was grounded for 2 days before I could convince mom that those pictures were not TAKEN by me!
I learned never to leave a camera around...
Chocolate Cake:
I had a roommate who flirted with my boyfriend whenever I wasn't around.
The worst of it is that he flirted right back. >:( He didn't last too long.
