Holiday cards to just out of college friends
« on: December 19, 2007, 04:45:27 PM »
Hello all!  Both BF and I are recent college graduates.  We're thinking of sending out some holiday cards to our friends, many of whom are also fairly young.  Several of them are still in school.

I feel silly sending a Christmas card to a friend that I talk to on the phone every week.  We're close and because it's a college friendship, we still relate to each other on a very informal basis.  Furthermore, I would feel awkward sending her a card without sending one to her BF (he does not live with her), but he is a) not as good a friend as she is, and b) still in college.  When I was in college no one would send each other cards; it would just be weird.

However, two other close friends were married this year, right out of college, and as I was a bridesmaid in their wedding and as they have established their own household, I feel like I should send them a card.  Of course, once word gets round that I sent my married friends a card but not my unmarried ones ... *sigh*  Maybe I should just stick to sending one to "adults", i.e. BF's parents.  What do the E-hellions say?

I send cards to pretty much everyone in my address book - whether I talk to them regularly or not.  Everyone likes getting mail that isn't bills or junk.   :)

Send your friend a card - you don't need to send one to her boyfriend since you aren't as close.
