Cool gift for a time capsule?
« on: January 30, 2007, 08:15:49 AM »
This isnt necessarily etiquette related, so I posted under off-topic....

So a friend of mine is pregnant, and at various times throughout her pregnancy, she has left me messages on my voicemail about her pregnancy - eg. when she found out she was pregnant (a very cryptic but excited message!), the first time she felt the baby  move (called on 3-way with her DH), etc.  I found a company that records voicemail messages to mp3/cd.  I am going to send my friend and her husband a recording of some of the messages for their baby's time capsule.

What say you, e-hellions? Cool gift or a little freaky?

What other things would you put into a time capsule for a baby?

That could be a cool gift.

I'd consider putting in photographs, books and DVDs of popular kids' movies and TV, small toys, and maybe little items of clothing fads.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

If you are sure to edit it and remove anything that could be embarrassing to the person, I think it is a great gift.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

How about newly minted coins from this year?

They're cheap and durable 8)
