 I had never heard of Firefly before this forum.   You all had to go on yammering about what a great show it was and bemoaning the fact that it wasn't on anymore.   I had watched the movie "Serenity" but had no idea there was actually a TV series that predated it. 

Evil Ticia stole my naivete away forever when she told me of Firefly and that it was video.   I and my family have spent several family nights this past week watching old episodes. 

How could you?  Are you all this cruel and evil?  I know your lives are miserable that Firefly is no longer on but did you have to infect me and my family into your misery?  I feel like I've been inducted into a cult.  Ticia, curse you forever.  You knew I would lament the thought of not seeing more of Captain Tightpants and you let me into the Firefly secret anyway.  Thanks.  Thanks a lot.

Would you believe I have the dvds but have never watched them?  My husband did, so at least they haven't gone to waste.  I liked the movie, though.

DH and I have just started watching the DVD's -- he borrowed them from his brother.

We are watching them slowly, because we know there are too few of them!

We love it!  Kaylee is my hero.  I just think she is really cool.

It took us 3 episodes just to figure out where we knew Wash from (Watt in A Knights Tale)

Not that I'm aware of, but good catch on the language used.  It's not actual swearing, just phrases that could be cursing in 500 years.

Welcome to the hell that is being a Firefly fan.  It always seems like the best shows get cancelled.  In this case, Fox really never gave it a chance and pretty much doomed it from the start.  It really was a pity, it was one of the shows that actually had premise and signs of being brilliant and a hit, had the network actually treated it decently.

I'm impressionable because I actually find myself cursing in Chinese after I see it.

Mine's an evil parrot chuckle. It's as contagious as the laugh in Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." We can't not laugh when the bird laughs.

*sigh* why is it that the shows that are innovative, clever, new, and have a good interesting plot line never seem to make it through a single season?!  I really loved Firefly and wish that it would've been given a better chance.  But nooooo, we have to put up with the dreck they infect us with.  Yuck.  DVDs, here I come!

All hail Firefly.

I hate how the networks played around with it, throwing it into any old time slot - give the show a chance! (They did the same with Futurama *bites back sob*, but at least Futurama is getting another run soon).

I heard another reason Firefly got cancelled was because a lot of Buffy fans boycotted it. You see, Firefly and Buffy creator Joss Whedon left the later seasons of Buffy to work on his new series Firefly. And Buffy fans didn't like this, so many of them boycotted Firefly in hopes of getting Joss back working on Buffy.

As much as I love Buffy, I love Firefly more, and I feel like kicking people when I hear things like that.
