I agree with you.  Moisten  your lips is OK by me, but correcting a hair do or re-doing the face or fragrance, step away from the public.

Sophia, that didn't really tell me anything.
...
(Side note: I can see loose powder being rude if you are getting it on other people or their property, but let's assume you (like me) don't use loose powder.)

That's what I was saying.  Stuff that flys around shouldn't be done where people are sitting.  Even regular powder flys some.

Perfume, not in public because it's so strong and offensive when first put on.

Hair, not in public, except maybe putting on a ponytail holder.

And with the hair if I have to pull it back in public I do it in a place where food will not be served. Even at home I don't pull my hair back where there will be food. I just don't want hair in my food and I feel others would think the same way so I would never pull my hair back in a resturant or sitting next to someone with food. I would just go in the bathroom.

I have rather long hair.  I learned that a ponytail holder is essential for plane travel.  So, I put it a side ponytail when I am getting settled in.  Otherwise, I swear there isn't room in my seat for both me and my hair.  It ends up hanging over the back of chair, which is rude.

I have several beautiful mirrored compacts (pressed powder), which I will use at a table to quickly refresh my lipstick.  Anything beyond that, the ladies' room.

BIL blows large, horking snots into his dinner napkin, then opens it to look at his snots at the dinner table.  I had to leave the room.  Also, people who spit; hork, then send a hocker flying - makes me nauseated.

Airplanes, I wouldn't dream of brushing hair, brushing teeth, etc. unless using the lav.  Usually wait until deplaning.

asta, "large, horking snots" has had me giggling all morning.

(Your use of the phrase, not actual snots.)
