signature file: book promotion picture?

I've got a book being serialized now which will be released for sale in the next week or two.

I didn't see this explicitly addressed in the forum rules, and I apologize if I've missed it: would it be okay if I put a promotional picture from the cover of the novel into my signature file (size is within limits) and a link to the novel's website?

If the mods want to check it out, the picture in question is this one:

If the mods tell me no, this is fine; I will leave my signature as it is and I will remove the link from this message as well.    I like this forum too much to go annoying everyone.

If the image is not okay, is the link okay?  Or vice versa, could I have the image without the link?

Sorry to take so long replying.  I think your thread got lost among the others there for a while.

Thinking this over, I came to the conclusion that I would prefer that there not be content in sigs that is promotional of a business or earning income to the poster.   While you and I know that making a decent living on writing books is nearly impossible, there is still a financial reward.   I don't think we want a situation where a poster is tempted to increase numbers of posts simply to get more views of their "ad" sig.  I'm not saying you'd do that but once the precedent has been set allowing it for one, there will be others that follow that might not be as scrupulous in their integrity. 

You could probably add this information to your profile info, however.
