Chocoholic denied
« on: February 04, 2007, 09:00:26 AM »
So I"ve been on a major chocolate kick lately.  I've been able to control it, but on Friday we got a phone call to go out for a friend's birthday for saturday night (last night).  So I thought I'll finally have my chocolate.  And as I'm dieting it has to be really good chocolate to be worth the WW points.

So I went to the restaurant's website and looked at the dessert menu and when the table next to us got dessert I could see that the desserts were totally worth it.  And then the couple informed the waitress that we had a cake waiting at home.  I asked about the chocolate level, we're close enough to do that, and DH joked that I needed to have chocolate at all time.  Lots of chocolate was promised.

There was a little in the ice cream, none in the cake, and while the frosting was chocolate-it was not enough.  A good cake, but not what I had been told.  And while I took the smallest piece, I still wasted points on something that wasn't what I wanted.

The birthday girl was happy and that's what matters.  However, I am now without chocolate.  As they're DH's friends I told him he owes me a really good chocolate dessert.  Frustrated chocoholic!

I had so much chocolate this week that I've developed a habit I need to kick if I don't want my belly and teeth to betray me.

<extends Hershey's to weber06>  Here, please have some of mine.  Enjoy.

Knowing how the WW thing works, I am soooo sorry that you used points on something that didn't live up to it's promise.  I have found that keeping a bag of kisses in my junk drawer saves me a lot of frustration, as I know the point breakdown, and slowly letting one melt in the mouth is chocolaty heaven!

I use my points now on the gift close friends gave me for Christmas.  Ten pounds of really good dark chocolate.  I weigh it, even, to make sure I don't overdo it, but ooooh - it's so nice to have that waiting for me at home some nights!  Chocoholics need to have something in reserve for nights like that.

I feel my craving coming over me again...

I'm shaking...

My heartbeat is so irregular musicians could write symphonies to it...

I'm hyperventilating...

Passed out.

Where's my chocolate?  I need chocolate! Gotta have it! Gotta!

Waaaaaaaah!

I bought Hershey's Kissables (you know, the little candy-coated mini-Kisses) in Valentine red, pink and white, and have to buy treat bags to hand them out as Valentine gifts to a few select friends - but it's all I can do to keep myself from tearing the bag open and eating them all myself!!!!!

Lucky for me I still have about a third of a container of Trader Joe's absolutely HEAVENLY chocolate truffles in hiding somewhere in the kitchen, because nobody, but NOBODY, touches my truffles!!!!  :P

The Cadbury chocolate mini-eggs just came out.  The multicolored ones with sugar shells with the texture of emery-boards.  I love them!

The girl scouts were lying in wait outside the turnstiles of the subway on Friday and I just had to get some thin-mints.

I'm not sure if they sell them any other times besides Christmas, but they come in a brown, oval-shaped tin. I suppose you could ask if they are still selling them, but I think they might be a seasonal item.

I bought mine over Christmas - I was shopping for others, but couldn't help myself, because they're divine.

Heheh, a funny story about Mini Eggs:

When I was in college, I knew this guy in my major a couple of classes ahead of me who was obsessed with the things. He (and I can see this) thought they were the greatest candy ever made, and would get very excited around Easter each year when they went back into production.

Well, one year I went up to our academic department and found this guy doing some homework and eating Mini-Eggs. I thought this was odd, seeing as how it was mid-January. I said, "Hm, are they putting Min-Eggs out already?" He said, "No, these are from last year. I've been saving them."  :P  Now, THAT'S a dedicated Mini-Eggs freak!

I was glad to see them get issued before Valentine's Day this year, so maybe this guy can buy fresh ones without having to dip into his 9-month-old stash!
