I don't remember James Spader nekkid in that movie... HOW did I miss that?!

Which movie, Secretary or Crash? Crash has lots of yummy naked bits. Though I could have done without seeing Deborah Unger's naked bits, but it was worth it to see... oh, you get the idea.  >:D

Crash, I don't even remember seeing him in it.

I've never seen the movie - but I looked it up for you.

Thanks, I must have looked up the wrong version. The one I saw was in 94.

Between Spader, and Holly Hunter, my mom and step-dad loooooved this movie. I keep telling Hubby he needs to see it, but he is still getting over the shock of Secretary.

I've thought really long and hard about this, even referred to the Forum Rules, and it isn't addressed so I'm just going to have to jump right in.

I'm calling Shenanigans.

Later V was talking to L about a joke she played on me because she wanted to "see what would happen". L had to ask her to elaborate. She purposely switched my soda with the same, non diet flavor. L went straight to Dr. and told her this. I had left for the day by this time.   L and J called me and told me what had happened. Dr. has yet to decide what to do since this was only suppose to be a joke... not that she agrees with it.

Twenty minutes later (January 16, 2008, 12:22:39 AM 9:22 PM EST) Lizetterose wrote:

(I) haven't heard from Dr. This is an eye clinic. She is new and learning to be the vision therapist. (does the exercises that the Dr. wants done.)  She has been a bit of a thorn in our sides.  What I think is interesting is A) the diet soda was great, I took it home once it was found (Diet cherry vanilla Dr. pepper) B) if she gets tossed I most likely will get her job and a raise.

Um, what? Why would you be looking for soda that wasn't missing?

She stuffed my bottle into the bag with the receipt. So when my bottle was found so was the receipt.

Big fan of CSI!

Me too!

The highlighted part in and of itself is telling. Look at part B...

Has anyone Googled Vision Therapists?
A licensed Vision Therapist is already an Optometrist. It's a specialization of the profession.  What's being suggested here is that (to paraphrase) the Dental Hygienist is training to be an Oral Surgeon by "practicing" on the real Oral Surgeon's clients.  If I were spending hundreds (or thousands - really) of dollars on treatment, I'd like to be sure my practitioner is qualified.  Now Lizetterose is suggesting that she'd fill that position.  I must have missed the post where Lizetterose said either of them were licensed Opticians.

And that is my biggest fear and her biggest loop hole. I have been chatting with my coworkers and no one has any "proof" that she knew or didn't know. And Dr would be taking the money out of her paychecks. That is why she would have the two weeks to keep working. With the way my class schedules is I can easily avoid her.

January 16, 2008, 11:30:45 AM (twenty minutes later)

Co worker I just talked to told me something that might make her quake in fear.
She is working up to a divorce. Something like this may cost her custody.

January 16, 2008, 12:38:32 PM (three minutes later)

I did. I wanted to at least wait and see what Dr. was going to do. Then I called my Cousin and we both talked to the cops in the city I work in.

January 16, 2008, 01:03:46 PM (25 minutes later)

The office is closed today so no one will be together till tomorrow.  I was not there to see her arrested. Cousin saw to that. I am trying to keep a low profile and off her radar. I found out that she has a part time job as a waitress! Yikes!!

1) We know what the Doctor wanted to do, Lizetterose wrote at January 16, 2008, 10:33:24 AM:
Dr. made a strange deal with her. I kinda like it.  She either would press charges against V, or V just loses her job (two week notice) and has to pay me for my testing strips I had to use (About $1 a strip) plus a whole months worth of my medicine ($180). I was told that Dr. said "she" would not press charges but said nothing about me pressing charges.  I do not know which was chosen yet.

I would rather have us deal with her our selfs  rather then involving the court system.
I just see to many loop holes she can jump out of.

and

2) Don't you have to swear an affidavit to get someone arrested? I didn't think you could just "call it in" (To a FAMILY MEMBER) without any other police interview.  THAT would have been an interesting post, yet it's missing.  I mean, Lizetterose also wrote on January 16, 2008, 02:05:03 PM:
Made me feel better when I was doing the calling, ect. It helped me to do this. Cousin did suggest a RO, but not immediately. He said to wait and see what the DA does.
and on January 16, 2008, 08:31:03 PM:
Cops have that bottle.

So it stands to reason there would have been a police visit to describe, rather than all the gossip about divorce, waitressing, etc. considering "The office is closed today so no one will be together till tomorrow."

I could go on, and if I am incorrect in my conclusions, I would love to be proven wrong. I will send flowers, make a public apology, and take my place in E-Hell.

But until then, I'm livin' in Missouri...

I *think* that she means that something doesn't quite add up, in her opinion, and she will believe it when she sees it (Missouri is the "show me" state)...............

I believe that is you suspect that someone isn't being truthful, and the story is a lie or embellishment, then you contact the moderators, rather than call them out as a liar on the board.

Lizetta has also been on this board a long time, and so her post holds a lot more weight for me than someone who has 5 posts on their belt.

But that would mean that this whole thing is made up.  Sorry, I am tired, but I just can't wrap my mind around someone making up something like this, getting the forum that upset, and carrying on and on about it, and it's not true?  All right, I know it's possible.  Anything is possible.  But that would be just as crazy as.....as the coworker who supposedly put her life in danger.  I've got to go to bed.  My faith in humanity is starting to crumble and I don't know what to think.

I believe in this forum!

I believe it is legitimate to question someone about the inconsistencies of their story.   For me, it is the timeline of events.

At 10:33 am on Wednesday the OP writes of the doctor's deal, that she likes this deal, and that she does not know at this point which option the co-worker chose to take.  Further states her preference to not go to court.

January 16,  10:33 am

Dr. made a strange deal with her.

About 45 minutes later she is further reiterating her concern about filing charges.

11:18 am  And that is my biggest fear and her biggest loop hole. I have been chatting with my coworkers and no one has any "proof" that she knew or didn't know.

Yet less than an hour later and a little more than two hours after stating that she did not know which option of the doctor's deal the co-worker had chosen, the co-worker is arrested.  That's an extraordinary change of position of wanting to "deal with her ourselfs" and not involve the court system to filing charges and having someone arrested in such a short period of time.

12:35 pm  She has been arrested. Assault and endangerment I believe.

12:38 pm  I wanted to at least wait and see what Dr. was going to do. Then I called my Cousin and we both talked to the cops in the city I work in.

I thought the Doctor had made a "strange deal" with the co-worker who was given the option to choose between charges being filed by the doctor or resigning her job with 2 weeks final work to earn the money to pay restitution for medical expenses?  There is a gap of information between not knowing what was "chosen" and an arrest 2 hours later.

Further incongruities are apparent in the OP's repeatedly stated concern about not making this incident public for the welfare of the office and its workers.  Yet charges are allegedly filed and the co-worker arrested which promptly makes this a very public event on public record.   I don't know about others but every local paper I've ever received has a police blotter section with current arrests listed.  Anyone can walk into a police department and request copies of charges filed and arrest records.  TV news reporters routinely scan the recent arrest records for interesting stories.

Minneloushe goes farther back to an earlier version of the forum.  Number of posts has no relevance as to who is credible or not.

There is enough inconsistency in the story line to raise the inquiring eyebrows of several mods.  Perhaps Lizzetta can explain to us why she created and registered a second ID shortly after starting this thread.

I was following this and the timeline did seem strange, but I gave the benefit of the doubt at the time.  Then later, I thought if someone had a life-threatening medical incident, was involved in a work-related altercation for what seemed like most of the day, then someone was arrested, they would have more things on their mind than real-time multiple postings to a web site.

I thought everything was moving too fast as well, but was willing to give the benefit of the doubt until the plea bargain was mentioned.  That was way too soon ...

I certainly hope this wasn't a hoax/joke on us.

I can't imagine someone doing such a thing, and I am truly disappointed that someone would.
