Your Favorite Clothing Colors?
« on: February 08, 2007, 12:06:04 PM »
Here's a light-hearted topic, to counteract the seriousness of the last thread I started.  What colors do you look best wearing?  Are there any colors you simply cannot wear next to your face, because they make you look washed out, tired, etc, or clash with your skin tone?

I have very dark brown hair, brown eyes, and medium-dark skin.  I look best in blue, rose, lavender, black, and ivory or white.  Four of my very best shades are periwinkle blue, violet, emerald or forest green, and burgundy or wine-red.  I cannot wear beige or olive-green next to my face; they look ghastly on me.

How about you?

I'm blonde and pale, and the best colors next to my skin are the reds at the maroon end, somewhat darker than the true reds.  Now, I usually wear blue and purple, which aren't bad on me, but not the best either.  I just like the colors.  Pastels, especially pinks, wash me out somehow, as do some shades of the blue and purples I love.  *shrug*  At this point in my life, it doesn't really matter, though.

Reddish borwn hair, dark brown eyes and a plae complection with pink undertones.. I cannot wear any "yellow based" colors, I look best in "jewel tones" and browns, so I wear a lot of purples and greens along with black.

DH says blue, especially light blue, looks best on me.  I prefer pink, because it is my favorite color, but looking at pictures I think he may be right and I'm planning to add some more blue to my wardrobe.

Well, I have ash brown hair and brown eyes and fairly light skin.

My favorite colors to wear are burgundy, all shades of blue, red, green, and violet in jewel tones, black, and white.
I'm away from sanity right now...please leave a message after the beep.

Jellybean love me in Red, and I just do not think it suits me,  I like him in certain colors, and since I (he hates it unless he is looking for a specific item, so he gets clothes for all holidays and such) do most of his clothing shopping, I WIN every time, LOL.

I have medium brown hair with light red highlights, but since I've gotten some gray, I prefer to color it red or it looks dull.  Brown eyes and pale skin that doesn't really tan.

I can't wear "dusty" colors at all.  They make me look like a corpse and I don't like them.  My favorite color is moss/olive green.  I look good in most greens, turquoise, yellow and darker reds (without any orange in them - wearing a ketchup-colored sweater right now).  Blues are fine as long as they are clear colors.  I look all right in baby blue, but I hate it.  Brown looks really good too.  Pink is only good if it's a darker color, like fuschia.

I love lilac and purple, but can't really wear it. Rats!

I'm redheaded and covered in freckles. Yellow is out. :)

For shirts: black, earth tones, and heather are all nice colors.

For pants: I like blue jeans, mostly, but khakis aren't bad either.

Black leggings, always.  Shirts are black, white, purple, various shades of blue, red, gray.  I have other color clothing, but, I don't go anywhere to dress up and I don't like to anyway.  Shoes would be moccasins and berkenstocks.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

Mousy brown hair (with more "sparkly" white hairs every day), gray/blue eyes, medium ruddy complexion.

While my favorites are deep purple and crimson, I'll wear pretty much any color I feel like. Trying on formals for a holiday party a few years ago I was told I could pull off any color in the store (by my friend as well as the saleslady).

I love olive drab.

I wear mostly earth tones, but I have a boutique I go to where the owner is always trying to get me into bright colors.  She's always right, too - turquoise and orange colors that look great with my olive tones.

But if I shopped alone?  Brown, tan, beige, black.  It works for me ;)

I have dark brown hair and pale skin......... I am ok with most colors but yellow and very pale pink make me look sick.

I can pull off almost anything else including lime green (which I love). I tend to stick with dark colors and black, although I have been "brightening" up my wardrobe over the past couple of years (much to my mother's surpise haha).

I am also pale with pink undertones. I wear a lot of chocolate brown (my favorite color) Sapphire blue and true red.    But mostly my closet has Chocolate browns, creams and a hint of peach.

My hair changes color but usually I keep it brown with a purple "pulse."

I like to wear any reds that are not orangey, black, grays, purple, some pinks, and some dustier shades of blue. I look like a sick frog in yellow, orange, and most greens. I also look horrible in white and ivory.

I usually end up in gray, though. It's a compromise from all the black I wore in high school. Less scary, still not eye bleeding, good choice, no?
