Satire? Yeah...right...
« on: February 09, 2007, 05:42:03 PM »
The author of this college newspaper "editorial" claims that he can't understand the backlash and must have misjudged the campus community.

http://www.courant.com/news/local/nb/hc-08230356.apds.m0802.bc-ct--editfeb08,0,1032398.story

[insert sarcasm] I understand that he also can't understand why his next article "Hitler and Mussolini -- Just Two Wild & Crazy Guys" might be also taken the wrong way [end sarcasm]

Well, hades, those first few sentences wanted to make me scream manically and tear my eyeballs out and then go skin those people alive. Seriously. RAPE IS NEVER FUNNY. I would probably offend quite a few people if I actually typed what I would like to do to the writer and editors, wouldn't I? Yes. So I won't. But you get the point.

The sad fact is that the town/gown relationship with this university is already at a boiling point because of wild parties the students living in the adjacent residential neighborhoods have every weekend.  This is just another indication that the administration at that school just has no clue.

Hold a sobbing friend in your arms for hours, then come back and tell me how "funny" your "satire" is.

I really, really hate to say this - but if the idjit had ever been raped - he would have known better than to think his "satire" would be read as he is trying to say that he intended it.

Snarky VorFemme has rolled a copy of the newspaper into the shape of a man and is stabbing it with her knitting needles.  She does not handle the subjects of rape or molestation very well.  But it is a lot less messy than the reconstruction of Torquemada's dungeon from the Spanish Inquisition that she wanted to build a couple of decades back..........so I will just leave the vacuum cleaner nearby so that she can clean up when she's through.

The young man (I assume he is young because he is clearly quite clueless) really has a very limited ability to see the world from any view point but his own.  Perhaps in twenty years, he will be a bit more experienced and smarter.

So the piece "argues that rape has been a positive force in western civilization and benefits "ugly women." How, exactly, is that satire? What's worse, is not only was the piece written, it was approved by however many editors are on the paper and published.

Perhaps someone will come along and rape, beat, and torture him for me. Cause i sure as hades would like to know how he feels about it then

And of course, the above is all satire, naturally.

Snarky VorFemme wants to know if you'd like to join her in stabbing knitting needles into the newspaper voodoo doll of this twit.  She has aluminum, bamboo, and wooden knitting needles in a wide variety of sizes - take your pick.

No problemo. I want the biggest knitting needles you have. Do you mind if I them sharpen them into the sharpest points you will ever see? And then perhaps coat the tips in metal?

I found the article and read it to see if it was as bad as it's made out to be.

It's much worse than I thought. My jaw will never be completely up again.

I am offended on so many levels. I can't even imagine believing this or making a joke of it. How do you let someone publish this slimey filth?

Here's the link if you wish to read it. If you are offended easily or even not so easily do not read it. It will only piss you off more.

It's posted on a board where students of the school visit.

How bout we all get together, go to Conneticut, and have a good old fashioned tar and feathering?

I don't know what size they are, but they are wooden and about an inch thick - you can dip them in this nice mixture of salt water and lemon juice.  They are a bit splintery - so here are some nice leather gloves to wear to protect YOUR fingers!

I have the bamboo shoots for the fingernails.

Bamboo shoots will taste nice in the stir fry (chicken) - we do need to keep up our energy levels while marching to Connecticut.  But to go under the fingernails and toenails - we'll want bamboo slivers........I do believe I broke one of my bamboo knitting needles.  The slivers are six inches long - is that a good length?  Where are the matches to set them on fire.........I seem to recall that being the next step.

I can detect a hint of a dark, sadistic humour in the article, but I still want to...er...well, it wouldn't be apropriate to outline my plans here.  >:D
