That is gross. I would avoid them if at all possible.

OT, but Chick-Fil-A is the cleanest fast food place I know. The tables are always sparkling, and every time I go there is an employee with a broom cleaning the food off the floor (if there is any!) The bathrooms are also immaculate. I only have one near me, but I have never had anything less than a fantastic experience there. :)

ick.

But as far as it making a difference...it depends.  In my experience, if they're corporate owned, it tends to make a BIG difference immediately.  If they're individual owned and franchised, it makes less of a difference.
Of course, for most of us, the only way we know which way they're owned is by calling to make a complaint.

I would never eat there, that's disgusting.

So many health issues are involved in eating in dirty areas, if that's what the people see, IMAGINE what they DON'T see!!! Yuck!!!!!!  :o

i would write a letter to corporate in the US. explain it as you wrote it here. copy to your local tourism minister (or whatever its called). is this a problem at large in the canaries (level of cleanliness not the same as in the US) or is this particular for these restaurants? and is it true that tourists go to these fast food places and not 'local' restaurants?
