A Looovely Email From Mother Dearest.
« on: February 10, 2007, 09:37:50 AM »
Just a little itty bitty teeny vent.

Mother has called several times in the last little while, and I haven't returned her calls. I just can't deal with her nonsense right now.

So she sent me an email. I rolled my eyes so much reading it, I think I sprained something.

It starts off with a whole bunch of sappy sentimental stuff, which for her, means she wants something. The big question is what?
She goes on to say, "I'm sensing that you are very tired and just dealing with work" supposedly referring to the fact that I haven't answered her yet. Ooookay. Sure. If you say so.

Then she starts talking about a trip she wants us all to take. The latest news is that Oldest Bro has apparently told her NO WAY. Wow. So his wife finally put her foot down, huh?

She says "I am wondering too if you are thinking you don't have the energy to do such a trip. Please express your feelings on this because you know that your old mom wants only to do what is in everyone's best interests!"

Yeah. Right. The last time I told her I wasn't going, she threw a hissy fit. That's one of the major reasons I'm not returning her calls. But she has conveniently forgotten that.

This time, I'm emailing her a NO. That way I have a paper copy if her memory gives out again. ;D

Always nice to see that she has your best interests in mind.  ;)

Good for you for putting your foot down - and for keeping your sense of humor!

I don't have any sisters, that I know of. But I am certainly willing to share.

In fact, you can have all of her if you want!

I was really thinking you could have them both.  I'd hate to deprive anyone of such looooovely company. :)

I'm loving the sprained eyeballs line! Does anyone not have relatives like this?

My sympathies.

I have none that I know of.  My family always was pretty great.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

Wait, do we have the same mother?  Did she accuse you of joining the peace corps just to get away from her?

Hmm, no. I haven't tried that one yet. Good idea, though!

There WAS some question of whether I picked a college that was really far away on purpose, and a career that prevents me from visiting during the holidays.

Of, course, I actually did do this on purpose. But I'm not going to admit it....

Does she also serve casserole made with cream of guilt everytime you visit?  It's my Smother's...errr...Mother's specialty ;)

LOL!

Yes, that's one of her favourite recipes. She also likes martyr and cheese. Mmmm, tasty!
