I had a man come in to find a phone number for his friend Jose Gomez who lived in Denver.  His number had changed and he wanted his new number so he could call him.

He didn't have an address or even a street.  He just knew his friend lived somewhere in Denver, or around Denver, at least in Colorado somewhere.

He had trouble understanding why I couldn't find the phone number, after all, he had the old number so why couldn't I find the new number. 

By the way it was a common Hispanic name something like Jose Gomez.  But it could have been John Smith or Jeff Jones, or Igor Stravinsky and I probably still couldn't have found it
