Another one goes off the deep end...
« on: February 16, 2007, 12:16:11 AM »
My mother's husband wants to move to Canada (possibly to escape The Young and The Worthless)

He called one of his relatives and asked what part of Canada is warm.

Anyways, I told my mom to tell him that her parents moved here FROM Canada and she ain't going back.

(PS, I LOVE Canada!  I just think it's weird he would choose that over Arizona or some other old people mecca)

Warm part of Canada? During what part of the year? How about a cold part of Panama? Would that place work for him instead?

Or, you know, someplace that's mostly warm. ^_^

There are a lot of warm places in Canada. They just happen to be inside the houses with central heating.

The warmest part of Canada (year 'round average, anyway) is the west coast, Vancouver/Fraser Valley

My nephew spent a year at Uni of B.C. in Vancouver. It snowed and his landlord said it didn't do that very often. A Canadian friend of mine, a native New Brunswicker refered to those living in Vancouver as "Hot house flowers"

Maybe he thinks former SIL and her tribe would arrested if they tried to cross the border. I'm sure one of them is on parole.

Not yet, Nephew still has to stand trial for punching out The Dirtbag (Father of Niece's twins).

Despite that, his mother got him to drop HIS complaint against Niece, for running him over.

Some day, hopefully, he will learn about leverage.

For what it's worth, Niece actually drove Nephew over to punch out The Dirtbag.

SNORK!

Probably hard to find on an Etiquette site....

Not to thread-jack, but your sig also made me smile. Did you catch ER last night? They had done surgery on a cheerleader who was beaten by her squadmates. As the surgeons leave the OR, one comments to the other "Well, you know what they say. Save the cheerleader, save the world."

(I had to explain that phrase to dh. Poor dear had only 2 channels for 4 months and missed the entire start of the Heroes season...)

Don't forget Vancouver Island - there's crocuses coming up at my friend's house in Campbell River. Living in northern BC now, as I do, we still have quite a lot of snow.

Please don't forget that Canada is a big country. We have all sorts of climates, from desert to tundra.

Thank you hollasa.  I know that most of people on the planet think that Canada is this frozen, middle of nowhere-igloo-laden tundra, but there are many places, mostly in the BC interior and Vancouver Island that are much warmer than many places in the US.  I might also add that parts of Ontario are further south than the Great Lake and Maritime States.  On another note, when I was home in Calgary this Christmas, the weather man on CFCN said that Calgary was warmer than Tucson, Yuma and Phoenix.  When it was -30 in Wisconsin, Calgary was a balmy 65 degrees - in January.
