Good Niece needed $5 because she is participating in a track meet and needed meal money.

My mother gave her $7.  Good Niece said she would pay it back, but my mom said she didn't have to. 

After she left, my mom commented that Former SIL should be ashamed to  not to have money to give her kid, particularly when it's the kid's money.  She should be, but apparently she isn't.

She's also not ashamed that she is going to pry herself away from her big screen TV, get into her brand new car and drive down to the food bank.

Forgot to mention that Nephew said Bad Niece smelled like she had been smoking an illegal substance.  I didn't get close enough to notice.
