40th Anniversary Cake
« on: December 08, 2006, 09:53:09 PM »
Okay, this is not your traditional anniversary cake!  But, my parents are both avid air hockey players.  This is what I remember them playing whenever they could when I was growing up.  It's what my daughter thought of first when I asked her what her grandparents enjoyed doing.  So, an air hockey cake it is for their party on Sunday!  Charm City Cakes did an awesome job!

That is too cute, what a great idea! I bet your parents are going to love it!
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

First, what a GREAT idea.  You're a very thoughtful daughter.

Second, what an AWESOME cake!  It looks like one from that cake show on the Food Network (I can't remember the name of it).

Ace of Cakes?  :)  It should - this is one of Chef Duff's cakes *G*  This is the 3rd cake we've gotten from him (we started ordering from him before his show went on Food Network) and we have 2 more planned already for next year.

My daughter's already planning on having him do her wedding cake.  Of course, she's not yet 14, so... she's got time!

He's a great guy, too, though yesterday we didn't have a chance to talk to him. There were people and cameras all over the place.  A LOT busier than it was last January.  I'm asking him to do an Imperial Star Destroyer for a convention in May and then trying to come up with something for my DD's 8th grade graduation party in June.  She's bummed, he's already done the sushi thing.  She wants something unique.  I'm thinking a canyon with a tiny jeep in it - she loves to offroad.
