I've always thought that cats have a very perverse sense of humor.

I'm happy hear Obi Wan has come to his senses!   ;D

Now you have to give him the "running away from home certainly doesn't solve your problems, it merely creates more, now doesn't it?" lecture.

Obi Wan finally left the tree just as it was getting dark.  He had come down about 10 feet and seemed to be stuck again.  So I went out and started calling him and shaking a container of kibble.

My DH, bless his heart, climbed up on the roof so he could get near the tree.

My kitty slowly, a branch at a time, and with a few near falls came down.  At one point Obi was hanging upside down clinging to a skinny branch with all four paws.  When he recovered from that he needed a bit of a rest before climbing a ways down again.

It took about 1/2 an hour of continuous encouragement before he got close enough that my DH could grab him.  He didn't cling or scratch or anything.  He came in and went to the supper dish, used the box and is sleeping in his favorite chair right now.

He did seem to want a lot of cuddles and the other cats seem happy to see him too.

So all is well and thanks for all the encouraging words.
Oh, thank heavens he decided to come down!  You can hear the collective sigh of relief from this board.  It had to be your presence and encouragement (and his hunger?) that got him out of there.  He was a brave boy to finally start the climb down.  He's lucky to have such a caring family as all of you.  Tell him for us, "All of your aunties and uncles say, 'Don't ever do that again!' "

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

We have one cat we named Ninja.  She is an artist at hiding.

She never goes outside because she was so tramatized as a kitten that she is very skittish.

She disappears in the house and we cannot find her.  Apparently she can hide in a different demension at times.

Then we see her sauntering toward the supper dish as if she didn't just drive us crazy.  Our house is not that big so she is very clever at hiding.  We have learned not to worry about her.

Then we have one named Black Demon who is very fat.  He is an escapee and for such a big clumsy cat can be very quick at slipping out the door when you least expect it.  But he doesn't really know what do do when he escapes.  He runs out to the driveway and rolls over on his back until we come and pick him up.  Then he yowls at who ever carries him back.

Cats keep you humble.

It's a tough job, but kitties do it well.

Glad to hear he made it down okay.  Someone should explain to him that cats can't use the force... ;D

Cats are an Alien Life Form that has been sent to observe us.

That being said, they must beam back to the MotherShip from time to time for debriefing.

That is where they are when you say they are "hiding"
