I've been away a week or two and suddenly I'm seeing this all over the place (okay, in one thread, but in several posts...). What does it meeeeaaannnn??? I feel so out of the loop!

Scritzy's right.   And, it's not an internet abbreviation - I'm surprised you haven't heard it in real life as well!

I'm chuckling just thinking how difficult it is to explain so many abbreviations without using profanity.  It seems like the abbreviations were developed in order to use these phrases which contain "objectionable" terms without offending.  I don't know when it started, but I heard SNAFU (situation normal, all fouled up) came out of WWII and the "F" did not originally mean "fouled."  Computers and the internet just popularized many abbreviations and new ones formed spontaneously.  From SNAFU came FUBAR (fouled up beyond all recognition), which is what happens when an inexperienced tech "fixes" your computer.

I have heard it in real life... just not the abbreviation. We use the full phrase 
So I'm afraid I just didn't make the connection!

And I have rarely heard snafu'd contain the would 'fouled'. I think if people have a need to spell it out, but don't use profanity, they tend to say "all f'd up".

The best translation from the profane I have heard was:
"I'll just get my poo's in a pile"

I used to use it - bit DH couldn't stand it as he said it sounded gross. So now I'm back to getting my s*** together. Sigh.

BFF= Best Friends Forever in textspeak. Or it could mean Boyfriend's Father here on the forum.

Hee Hee - the one I use is "I need to get my fecal material organized".
