jfulle5:
So I work out about 3 times a week. I've recently had surgery and i cant do to much weight on my chest. I was in this machine where you use your arms to do like a sitting up bench press and you use your feet to get the arm thingy where it's suppose to be (sorry for the bad description!) Anyway, I had it on the least amount of weight, just trying to build some feeling and strength back in the area, when i saw this woman staring at me. It was creepy. Finally she walks up and in the most condescending voice she can says "you know you're doing it wrong, you're suppose to take your feet off of the bar so you can get the full weight on your arms and your hands are in the wrong position and..." All I said back to her was "um, OK" and yes I was a little snarky about it. At this point i was upset because 1)It was none of her business 2)I know what I'm doing 3) She didn't work there 4) the way she approached me was in a aggressive way, not helpful at all (I'm 22 she was in her 40s and she addressed me in the "you stupid kids don't know how to do anything" kind of tone). What should I do next time tries to talk to me at the gym?

OogaBooga:
"Thanks for your concern, but my physical therapist recommended I do it this way."  Then go back to your workout.

(even if you don't have a physical therapist, it gives you a higher authority to refer to than Ms. Random Noseypants)

Cyndi:
Perhaps you should bring in a walkman. You don't have to turn it on, but if people have the impression that you're listening to music they'll probably see you as "unavailable for conversation".

Consider this a "second" to that "Perfect."
