I laughed until I cried
« on: February 24, 2007, 10:15:44 PM »
Never do new things in the shower and not tell your husband...

I picked up an automatic shower cleaner and put it in the shower earlier.  Forgot to tell DH and DD about it.

DH went to take a shower just a little bit ago.

He came down the stairs.  "My wife has traumatized me.  I'll never be the same again. Traumatized, I tell you - complete with the shakes!"

Of course, I'm a little concerned.  "What? What'd I do?"

Apparently... while in the shower, DH took note of this thing hanging there.  So, like anyone might do (if they didn't have a clue what it was), he pressed the button and stuck his face into it, trying to figure out why no soap was coming out.  He thought it was a soap or shampoo dispenser

And then 15 seconds later, it started - and it's LOUD.  And it turns.

And it sprays 8 feet, so he couldn't get away from it.

He's standing in the middle of the room here, showing me how he was huddled against the shower wall.  "It kept following me!  And it's COLD!"

hee hee hee, what a priceless image!!

(on an aside, how is that thing? Does it actually work?)

So far, I know it's great for scaring husbands out of the shower!

I just started using it today.  I'll let you know if it helps :)

DH and I are stilling crying, we're laughing so hard. DH adds, "Evil has a first name. It's spelled W-I-F-E."

That is priceless.

I just read this to my DH......he responded with (in a completely serious tone, mind you..):

"Well, I would have just beat the thing to death with the toilet plunger!"

Still laughing about this over here... ;D

I have one and it does work.

But now that you mentioned it, an automatic soaper wouldn't be a bad idea for those days when I just can't seem to get going. ;)

Okay, I'm laughing too!  ;D

We're living in a rented house. Dh moved up here 4 months before we did, so he was all settled in.

My first morning here, I go into the shower.

There is a strange device with liquid and a button hanging in the shower.
Well, since one of our other houses had a fancy soap dispenser in the shower, this must be one too.

Push botton.
Nothing happens.

Push a few times.
Nothing.

Go back to showering.
When it starts up and starts chasing me around the shower.
I was flattened up against the back wall, trying to dodge this cold smelly spray!

Dh just about hurt himself laughing over that!

So glad I'm not the only one!

Being notoriously horrible at cleaning, I'd love to try one of these things. I just have no confidence it's safe if you have a parrot in your shower every day, and Papaya loves his showers.

Ahhh, the things we give up for the love of critters. I never thought I'd sacrifice my nonstick pans.

ROFLOL!  I had tears in my eyes by the time I finished reading this.

DH told me he was going to need counseling after that!  I bet you could get together a HUGE group!

I have one of these things too and have been using it for about three or four weeks.  I have a double size tiled shower with glass doors.  I don't think it keeps keeps the shower cleaner in between actually cleaning.  It leaves spritz marks on the glass and I can't tell a bit of difference on the tile.

And unfortunately, I told my hubby what it was, so I didn't even get the fun of letting him try the button during a shower...

Yeah, we'll be "the great unwashed" because we're all too afraid to step into strange showers!

I read this thread to my dh, who chortled evilly - and my 15yo dd nodded. Apparently she too was attacked by "the shower thing".
