i went shopping in the souk today (open air market) and got bunches of fresh greens: basil, dill, parsley, coriander, green onions and great fresh olives and I got home and made a lovely green omelet with salad (I am trying to stay off bread and anything with flour)

I have to think about cooking for tomorrow/sat - we are having a guest.

The best kind of dinner of all: one I'm not making!

I'm headed over to my sister's for dinner, and bringing with me some of my farm produce (broccoli & sugar snaps.)

I'm not making dinner either. We're attending a charity fundraiser.

I am, however, making more pumpkin bread and deviled eggs today, just because.

Our dinner turned out to be...

Appetizers of bacon-wrapped scallops, lobster-stuffed mushroom caps, and spicy beef satay; followed by a meal of garden salad, barbecued chicken and ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a dessert of pound cake with fresh strawberries and cream.

Me too!
I have no idea what to cook for dinner tonight. I'm considering chilli and baked potatoes.

friday night dinner: orange soup (from orange vegetables, not from fruit!), mezze (lots of little salads), zucchini stuffed with rice and herbs in lemon/olive oil sauce (YUM!) for me, and pasta for DS, and fruit cake. yum.

It's gorgeous out so I bought the fixings for a picnic supper
Loaf of Italian bread
Sliced (cooked) London Broil
Goat Cheese
Red Onion.

The BF is going to caramelize some garlic which we'll smoosh onto the bread and than bake for a bit.  We'll saute the red onion then add that, the steak and goat cheese to the bread, wrap in foil and smoosh down.  By the time we get to the park the cheese will be nice and melted and should be yummy.

I'm not sure what I'll make tonight. Mr. F is golfing this afternoon (the Golf Classic is in conjunction with the charity dinner/auction we attended last night), and it'll take forever (foursomes playing 18 holes). I'm not sure what time to expect him home, so I'd like to make something that can be kept warm and served any time.

That sounds good!

I'm considering making a sausage soup with some tomatoes and maybe bay leaf. Something I can let simmer for a while.

I'm doing baked honey-mustard chicken, rice, and steamed whatever vegetables we have in the fridge (I think we have some sugar snap peas, or maybe broccoli).
