We are Super Bowl party-bound, and our contribution will be a bucket of homemade kale chips with a tahini-lemon-dill dipping sauce, as improvised moments ago. I know The Simpsons said, "you don't win friends with salad," but I hope you do win friends with crispy kale, 'cause everyone is a stranger to me at this gathering.

I also hope there is something else vegetarian at the party,  'cause kale chips aren't a great dinner.

Oh, and three-buck Chuck (merlot), too.

Philly Cheesesteak subs.  Our butcher has great shaved steak, with porteguese rolls, imported provolone and sauteed peppers and onions.  I am having homemade veggie soup - since I really don't like red meat ( at least beef  )(

I recently bought a Belgian waffle maker, so dinner last night was panko chicken tenders and waffles with blackberry butter. Divine!

Tonight is seared skirt steak, smashed potatoes and avocado salad.

We're getting a good hit of snow today so we'll be making a split pea soup and baking bread.

We also have good vanilla gelato and some fresh blackberries.  Add a bottle of wine we received as a Christmas present and we'll be very cozy tonight.

Spaghetti carbonara, with apples in some form. For some reason, carbonara goes very well with apple slices or applesauce. (My husband is very enthusiastic because I'll be cooking for a change.)

I am supposed to be making broiled salmon, but I am exhausted and want to crawl into bed. It might be Qdoba for dinner.

Rotini with white beans, tomatoes, and the lemon-tahini dill sauce from last night, thinned out with a little wine.

It was very late when I got home, so we just had hot dogs and chips.

Tonight is steak, potatoes and salad with fresh bread.

My daughter was very sweet, and made dinner (ravioli!) for us last night, so I didn't have to cook or grab takeout. And, since my headache is gone, I'll make the salmon tonight.
