Just finished defrosting the freezer - salmon will be thawing soon (Monday or Tuesday) and we had take out for lunch.  I was not getting into the ice chests to fish out food.

And dinner may be take out again, as the fridge & freezer need longer to come up to full cooling levels...but at least I *know* what's in the kitchen now!

Porcupines, steamed zucchini, ciabatta rolls, apple cider. Maybe an oatmeal shortbread cookie for dessert.

To whom you speak,
Of whom you speak,
And how, and when, and where.

Pork loin chops (slices off a whole pork loin) fried with garlic & fresh ground pepper, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes...pretty good for being in Houston (but the power, water, cable, and internet still work).  Ice cream cones for dessert (just so we don't have to throw out the ice cream if the power goes out again).  Rooibos tea to drink - I have just found someone else who likes it better than the black tea blend used to make iced tea that is more common around here.

VorGuy got a Facebook message from his brother this morning & went to get them from the fire station where they spent the night.

They did stop on the way back to get milk, bacon, bread, cat food, cat litter, and dog food (they have their pets with them).

A bag of Trader Joe's Ghost Pepper Potato Chips. With a glass of milk.

What can I say? It's rough going in my life right now.

Today, garden salad (lettuce & tomatoes - SIL fixed it), mashed potatoes, whole wheat bread (the guys got it for themselves), and sliced BBQ pork loin spiced with soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic, and thyme sauce - then soy sauce, sherry, and apple jelly melted & poured over all.

There are leftovers, but only because it was a four pound roast...

Tomorrow - leftover pork loin slices in sandwiches at lunch and spaghetti & meatballs for dinner.
