Meatloaf, au gratin potatoes and roasted carrot casserole from Chow. The casserole called for about 3-4x as many toasted bread crumbs as were actually needed. I rinsed/scraped them off and added a little more cream, which made a world of difference. We had the last of DH's birthday cheesecake for dessert.

Yesterday was mushroom soup, brown bread and a glass of sparkly wine.

Tonight will be something from the freezer- one of the meals I've made and frozen.

Baked salmon, brown rice, steamed pak choi and dry fried shitake mushrooms. I am trying to eat healthy, even though on this cold night it is tempting to go for a big steak pie and mashed potatoes.

Last night was chicken Parmesan and was delicious.

Tonight I was doing holiday baking so dinner was leftovers/fend for yourself. Tomorrow night will be chicken and dumplings over egg noodles, assuming I remember to take the chicken out of the freezer.

Last night I was baking at a friend's house and she set out an array of cheeses, tapenades, smoked salmon and fresh fruit. It was a lovely balance to the ridiculous quantities of butter and sugar we were also eating.

I don't know. I'm feeling bleh, and somehow even though the fridge is full there's nothing that jumps out as the ingredients for a specific dish. There's leftover chicken that didn't get used last night so I should probably do something with it, but I don't know what. I also don't want to have to clean anything up, so that limits my options a bit. We'll probably end up with sandwiches or leftovers, something like that.

We're going out with friends who are in from out of town. We told them to pick a place, since they can't always get to some of the restaurants we have in our area. We're going to this fabulous little gourmet pizza parlor...yum, I'm so excited! I'll probably have my favorite there; a pesto-glazed pizza with Roma tomatoes and chicken and melted Gouda. And probably a good portion of a bottle of Malbec.
Sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here.

Sauteed chicken cutlets with yellow and zucchini squash and cucumber-tomato salad. Trying to eat fairly lean, to pre-empt the goodies Monday and Tuesday.

I had bits and pieces left over from my CSA box so threw everything into a big pot and made vegetable soup.  Corn, green beans, kale, onion, carrots, tomatoes.  It is delicious and a nice change from all the heavy food I've been eating lately.

Macaroni cheese, made with a mixture of plain white and delicious Applewood smoked cheddar, and mustard in the sauce. Rich, creamy, and bad for you. Perfect for a cold night.
