Knowing that the Nemo is coming in, we planned for tonight's dinner.  We'll be having sugar salmon, sesame noodles and string beans sautéed with ginger and garlic.  Tonight also sounds like a good time to crank up the Blues Brothers.

I decided to pick up a burrito from a different taqueria and holy cow y'all, this thing is about 50% guacamole. I'm in heaven.

Homemade chicken pie.  Every so often, I cook off 2 chickens, pick them and make stock.  So chicken pie is a snap with tha already done.

DS is away, so DH and I had pork and beef meatloaf with brown sugar and ketchup glaze, cheesy rice, and broccoli. We have some lovely adult beverages also. Shiner Bock for me and Shiner Black Lager for DH.

A huge slice of Pecan Praline king cake my wonderful sister picked up for me on her way home from New Orleans from my favorite baker.

Last night was two meat, two bean chili with lots of vegetables and served with our traditional toppings and real Southern cornbread. This was the hottest batch of chili I have personally made, with the fresh jalapeno chile providing the most heat.  :o

For XMAS every year my 2 sons ( teens ) by me a gimmicky As Seen on TV gadget ... its sort of a joke. If they can get it at the drug store... all the more fun.  Theis year it was the tortilla shell pan... Makes a tortilla bowl .. WOWOWOWOW - they turned out great .... we had awesome taco salads....
