People who haven't visited my home before are always amused at the juxtaposition of two cookbooks I use. Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child and The "I Hate To Cook" Cookbook by Peg Bracken sit next to each other because they represent the range of my culinary interests, which seem to bounce between the two.
A couple of days ago I happened to pick up the latter book to browse through it in bed and found myself thinking, "Not bad" about a few of the recipes including the first one, Sweep Steak. I have bought the steak, the dry Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and a can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup, and all are now in the oven as I speak. I'm actually looking forward to trying this along with some corn on the cob later today.
