I am going to have a grilled cheese with pickles on it... thanks for inspiring me cutenoob!

Or you know, not. Apparently we have no bread.

I am instead having a pot pie.

Gyudon, one of DH's favorites. It's sauteed onions and beef, seasoned with soy sauce and sugar, then simmered in dashi for a while (20 min.?) and served over rice.  A nice hearty dinner on a chilly night.

*whimper!* Ohhh, I miss gyuudon! I went to Yoshinoya at least once a week when I was spending my uni year in Japan. We had a Japanese festival here recently (celebrating Canberra's sister city relationship with Nara) and I spent about forty minutes in line and paid $10 for a small bowl of gyuudon.

I REGRET NOTHIIIIIIING~!

Last night was leftover chicken lo mein, baby carrots and rice pudding.

Tonight might be grilled cheese.

Five things observe with care,
To whom you speak,
Of whom you speak,
And how, and when, and where.

I made a variation on stroganoff with leftover turkey and made-from-drippings gravy.  I have the feeling that my posts over the next few weeks are going to be along the lines of 101 ways to eat leftover turkey.

Tacos: black beans, butternut squash, spinach and salsa in flour tortillas.

Took leftover beans and squash,  warmed them up with onions,  and served over spinach with avocado, olives and balsamic Sriracha dressing.

we have a few whole chickens in the freezer. They are tiny. So tonight I roasted one, and along with that we had Parmesan and garlic smashed potatoes.

Fro-yo and wine. I really need to get my house back to functioning order because my eating habits have regressed by more than a decade.
