I think she means that it's overdone at this point.  We had this topic discussed in just about every way possible by now.  It seems as if a new thread on the subject pops up monthly - it'd be better for our new members to just contribute to one of the existing threads rather than start yet another one.

And, Keen, I've added it to the list in the OP.

I didn't find a mention of telemarketer threads. Aren't they both overdone and rude?

BTW, I think this topic should be pinned... and maybe reorganised so that all the "off-limits" subjects show up on the first page.

I don't know about telemarketer threads, but another phone subject always repeats itself:

Although sometimes I think this needs to be discussed frequently because we have to declare war on this plague on society.

Cell phones on public transit, cell phones in the bathroom, cell phones at church, cell phones at the movies ...
