A Random Act of Catness

This morning I was awakened by the sound of cats jumping onto the washing machine and loud meows.  Our stackable washer/dryer combo has a folding door in front, and when I got up to investigate I found that Daisy had become trapped between the door and the washer, and Minnie was trying to get my attention to come and free her.  I released Daisy from her prison, and right now she's trying to get back in it.  You'd think she'd learn.

My cat loves to get stuck and hurt and half killed. She will do it over and over, like two minutes after you just saved her from something. I'm thinking about having her Baker-acted, she is definitely a danger to herself....

Our fifteen-month-old kitten has developed a fascination with doors and drawers, to the point of trying to use the doorknob to open doors.  About 5AM today we're wakened by the sound of bump, bump, bump, from inside our closet.  DH gets up, lets kitten out, shuts door firmly.  Five minutes later, we hear bump, bump, bump - he's trying to get back in. ???

Our delightful Boog does things like this.  Her current fascination is with the bathroom, which we keep closed off because our ageing pomeranian thinks that bathmats are for her to pee on.  Boog waits till late at night, when DH or I stumbles to the bath half asleep and slips inside when we aren't looking, only to get locked in when we come out.  Then she yells until we come back and open the door, and looks up at us as if to say "You know I'm cute right?"  This cycle repeats itself daily.   :)

My dearly departed kitty, Cutie Pie, used to politely "knock" on my door with her claws when she wanted in. She never got trapped anywhere, but sometimes she'd want out to eat, come back, beg for out again to drink, come back, then beg for out AGAIN to use the litter box. All in the space of ten minutes. I used to complain to her that she needed to do all these things at once, but there was no changing her ways. She was a silly girl and probably does this up in Heaven too ;)
