I've been trying to train a coworker on a new study we're working on. I've only been on the study myself for a few months, but my boss apparently felt that I knew enough to help this newer person (to the study - not the company) learn the ropes.
I don't consider myself a teacher. I try to be patient. And, I try to teach things the way I'd want to be taught. But, I don't think I do a good job.
But, I was just talking to this coworker on the phone and she said, "I just told [another coworker - one who's higher than us] that you've really been a help to me in learning how to do this study. You've really been patient with me and taught me well. Thank you for helping me."
I know it sounds simple. Just a "thank you" from a coworker. But, you have no idea how sweet this was to me. And, how it makes me feel. I've been feeling like I don't know what I'm doing here. To have someone tell me that, yes, I did do something right and that they appreciate me really makes my day.
She said she'd tell my boss, too. Yea!
