P.S. This same woman takes the Christmas sweater phenomenon to an entirely new level - she actually layers them. A turtleneck printed with six million reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh is topped with a red christmas tree cardigan (with colored sequins), which then has a Santa Claus brooch pinned to it. Then she's got wreath earrings in her ears and brown cord slacks that resemble the trunk of a Christmas tree. A wolf disguised as Santa's helper perhaps? I don't mean to sound mean, I'm certainly not the world's most fashionable woman, but my goodness!

Funny, 'cause that sure doesn't sound like someone who's Ambitious (with a capital A!).

Oh, and I think I got a bit of a headache trying to imagine what she must look like dressed like that.

What? No light-up hat that spins and plays "Here Comes Santa Claus?"
"And thou shalt have dominion over the animals -- except, of course, the cats."

I'm going to let the incident go because honestly, I'm too tired, overworked and pregnant to start over looking for someone else right now!

If you're tired now and don't want to deal with it, just wait until you have a newborn at home, are exhausted from getting up 3x a night, and end up using a chunk of your part time hours having to put out the fires from this woman's latest antics.  Eventually, she'll start getting away with more and more simply because you aren't there to manage her every minute of the day.

There are tons and tons of journalism and PR grads with good experience out there that would love to have this job, who would be better team players, and with whom you would feel very comfortable and confident while you are out of the office.   Think about it.....

POD this is a classic case where time put in on the front end will save you much grief later -- (kids are like that too -- so it is good practice for your upcoming role)
she is still new and on probation -- plenty of time to say 'this isn't really working out' and find someone else -- and change those titles -- 'managing editor' suggests that she should be calling the shots  'senior editor' sounds like an emeritus title -- or a consultant title, not like someone with any authority
