Some residual glitches
« on: April 02, 2007, 07:18:26 AM »
The server changeover is complete and I beleive the DNS propagation is done as well.  The forum is looking good from what I can tell.

There are other residual glitches from the server move including 1)  I cannot get Front Page to work so I cannot update the site to announce new changes to the forum status; 2) my computer is not recognizing my etiquettehell.com email addresses so I can neither send or receive emails; 3) the blog theme is messed up.

If you emailed me lately, I either haven't seen it or cannot reply to it yet.

Jeanne,

Thanks so much for "fixing us" so quickly.  Some of us go through withdrawals without our daily dose of e-hell.

Thanks for all you do, it is appreciated!!

Thank you for your kind words but I am sorry for putting Ehell fans through such aggravation.  The  warning signs were there six months ago that I really needed a different provider. It's been very frustrating to give the parameters of the forum needs and not get a straight answer as to whether the server the forum would be on would be big enough to handle the traffic.   A few of the ehell oldtimers have been very helpful in diagnosing problems and offering suggestions privately for better hosting services.  I've really appreciated their input which did help me reach the conclusion that I was paying way too much money for the small amount of server I was getting.  The new server is actually more money BUT it is far more powerful and capacious and it is all Ehell, no sharing with anyone else.  In other words, I'm finally getting what I pay for and I am looking forward to fewer server problems.  I don't know how it is for anyone else but the forum pages are loading with lightning speed for me even at the busiest time ever since the primary server came online Sunday evening.

At some point, if the forum keeps growing as it is, we'll have to upgrade to an even larger server but I'm confident the host provider I have now will be able to accommodate that with little interruption.
