Guilty Pleasure Night!!!
« on: December 14, 2006, 04:44:29 PM »
What is your idea of the perfect guilty pleasure night??
I have two: I love to sit on the porch on a cool night with a glass of wone, my cigarettes and a good friend on the phone and talk for hours...
A plate of creamcheese stuffed jalapenos and a really good book and the whole house to myself....
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Cooking up some of my favorite seafood dishes, since BF doesn't like seafood, then having a feast in front of the TV with either Star Trek:TNG or the Food Network on.

A night of my favorite movies and unlimited pizza or takeout Chinese. :)

Also, if I need the extra relaxation, some nice, chilled-out music, a glass of red wine or two, a good book, and my favorite truffles in the world - truffles from a company I used to temp for. They are pure heaven - and sprinkled with (edible) 24K gold into the bargain. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate, but these are so good and so sensual an eating experience that I totally forget they're dark chocolate. :)

For me, guilty pleasure night is this:

A really hot bubble bath, with a cup of hot tea with lemon and any of my favorite books, followed by snuggling in bed with DH and 3 out of the 4 furbabies (Bia is too big to fit in the bed) and watching something cool on tv or dvd.

If DH is in school (which is almost over!!!) then my idea of guilty pleasure night is hanging out in front of the computer reading fanfic.

Spend the night in front of the TV and PlayStation and play Final Fantasy XII or Xenosaga Episode III.

Eating Italian food :) All cheese, pasta and sauce please!!! Then having some large glasses of red wine while watching any reality show on mtv or america's next top model.

I am over 30 and I like to think I'm intelligent - but I loooove those horrible shows!

I have to confess that I was a Surreal Life junkie...now it's Celebrity Paranormal Project. Those shows are like crack to me....

Oh....  *sigh*

Either a couple of 30's "screwball/romance" comedies and a box of godiva truffles (DARK) or...and I blush to confess this...a "historical" bodice ripper novel and a box of godiva tuffles (DARK).  On the couch, wrapped in a soft warm blanket--alone.

Yeah...like that ever happens.   ;)

I am having one tonight. I am planning on having a nice chicken dinner with a wonderful wine and then spend the rest of the evening with a new book. ;D

I am lucky that I get one night free of the guys every other month due them going camping without me. The dinner I have on these nights varies but a new book never does.

Eating something I shouldn't (like a whole bag of potato chips), and watching movies like Peyton Place

Alternatively, reading a book like that.  When I was out of work in 2001 I found a copy of it in the Salvation Army.  I was amazed that the content of it was ever considered shocking.

Save us from danger, save us from evil. It's at the end of the song Whisper by Evanescence.

Skip any kind of work out.

Curl up with the laptop, junk food and a good merlot and roleplay until daybreak, then crawl into bed and listen to my husband's amused, yet exasperated chuckle and promise to let me be the one to take the dog out first thing in the morning ;)
