How do I address this present?
« on: December 15, 2006, 03:45:57 AM »
The background; my boyfriend is divorced with three late-teens/early 20's children.  All three children live with their mother in a far-distant town.  The kids have his surname; the ex-wife has gone back to using her maiden name.  He has maintained friendly relations with the ex and we'd like to keep it that way.  Boyfriend will be spending Christmas with them.  I will be staying home, 600km away.

I want to send a basket of home-baked goodies as a Christmas present to everyone in the house, INCLUDING the ex.  My problem is...how do I address the gift card?  "To the Boyfriend's Lastname Household" isn't going to work because that excludes the ex.  "To Boyfriend's Family"?  Definitely not.

"To all at No.96" seems pretty lame to me, but it's the best I can come up with.  Do eHellions have any better suggestions?

Do you know everyone's first name over there? I would just write all the names with the mother first then sign my own first name. "To Mother, Kiddie, Kiddie, and Kiddie. Merry Christmas from Me!" or something like that. Unless there's some need to be formal, I would think first names are OK for a present.

I'm pretty much with everyone else. I'd probably say, "To [Ex] and Kiddo1, Kiddo2, and Kiddo3. Merry Christmas!"

And I think it's really cool that the adults are keeping things friendly. I'm sure there are times when it's not so easy.

Thanks! I fixed it. That's what I get for playing around on the internet taking an extremely brief break at work. ;)

This is exactly what I was going to suggest before I saw that it had been answered well already. To: Jane, Joey, Tina, and Angela, From: Ulla & Dad
