We always just threw the bag on the concrete floor of the garage.  Works like a charm!  ;D

Haha. I do the same thing!

When you say bag, do you mean you take them out of the styrofoam plate, put them in a bag and throw it? Just like you do ice?

Well, my mom always bought a jumbo-sized plastic bag of chicken breasts at Sam's, or some other giant package food warehouse.  They came in a big plastic bag, so it worked well.  Also, they were usually only frozen together along one edge or at a couple of points.  For chicken that is really solidly frozen together along the whole surface, I really don't think it would work.
