I don't have tattoos, and don't really care if other people do - I've seen some that I thought were really cool and beautiful. But I've also heard of tattoos that didn't exhibit great planning. Like a young lady who got a butterfly tattooed on her abdomen...and then got pregnant. I'll leave the results to your imaginations
For me, personally, this wouldn't be a problem. When getting a tattoo, I always figure it won't stay the same as when it first got done. That's part of what is so fabulous about it! It grows, and changes, and warps, and fades, and gets wrinkly - Just like I will. It's part of me, and once I get one, (although super pretty at first! And believe me, I admire it from all angles for it's aesthetics!), and have had it for awhile, it's no longer "oooh! Look! Pretty!!!11!!" It's just....a part of me.
Make sense? Lol. I've tried to explain this before, and have failed every other time, so if it doesn't, I can definitely try again!
That is my favorite thing about my tattos. They are mine. They're right there embedded in my skin.
I got my first one on my solar plexus when 15 years ago. Back then i had a rack of a stomach and showing it off was fun. Now i am a little older and less inclined to let that area show, but i still love it. It's mine. It still looks good, too, surprisingly. Everyone asked what would happen if i got fat or pregnant. I've gained and lost weight and it has mushed along with me.
My 2nd is on my calf. It is tiny and it looks horrible now. It mushed along with me as well, i guess. It started with very intricate lines that are completely indistinguishable now. It looks like a birthmark. Oh, well. It's mine. It's in embedded in me forever and even though it is my least favoriteof my tattoos i don't really want to mess with it and i don't regret it at all. If it was big or on my face i might feel differently.
The 3d is on the back of my neck and was all about getting a tattoo with an old friend i hadn't seen in a long time. We always talked about it when we were young, so we went and did it together. That was the last time i saw her. I hope she is doing well. Since it is on my neck i don't look at it much. It's just a black swirly thing that mushes along with my shoulder blades. Like the solar plexus one i thought it swirled along with my parts.
The 4th & 5th are a sun and moon i got on the front of each shoulder. They're also small. They're not well done. Frankly, they are bad tatoos. I got them on a pier in New Jersey for goodness sake. The moon is all black and looks like Pac-Man. It's like a negative of a solar eclipse but the lines aren't quite right. I love them. They're mine.
The 6th is tiny as well and just below the 3d, lower on my neck. It's particularly sentimental. It has made people think erroneous racist things about me in some situations. I still don't care. It's mine.
I love how all my tattoos are permanently stuck into Me. If i ever lose everything they'll always be there. Little pieces of me i chose to put there. I like that.
