They committed a sexual assault....I would have asked the victim if she wanted to call the police. That's beyond etiquette, that's a criminal act.
You handled yourself beautifully and I hope that your friend is okay. You might ask her if she wants to report the crime and offer to be her witness, but if she's fine then I'd let it drop.
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

I understand your not wanting to cause a further stink, but I think the 2 women should have been facing the police for sexual assault charges!

I can see why the victim probably preferred a stiff drink.  It would be bad enough to press rape charges against a man.  Can you imagine the juvenile snickering of an all woman s*e*x*ual assault case?

Unfortunately, it's not as uncommon as you think. And a good judge will head off any snickering.
