St. Anthony is also the patron saint of lost objects.

For that reason alone, he and I are well acquainted. :-\

According to Cuban tradition, St. Anthony is the patron saint of love and relationships.

St. Raphael the Archangel is the patron of finding the person you ought to marry. (ala the Book of Tobit.)

Back in 1992, I asked St. Raphael to help me find a boyfriend if he didn't mind terribly. I gave him a list of guys I thought were pretty cool.

Within two weeks, one of them had kind of asked me out, and I'm still married to that guy today.  :D

He married someone else instead (ex, not God)

HA!  I literally laughed out loud!!!!!

I was laughing at that, too!  I didn't know if I should mention it, because I didn't want to distract from IIL's initial post.  But, since someone else is laughing, I'll confess that I am, too! :D

Hee hee hee...I was trying to be clear but I guess it did sound kind of funny!  :)

He's also the patron of travelers, healing, and young people. I can't say enough good things about him. He's also got one of the most beautiful novena prayers I've ever found:

How about this prayer?

A husband, St. Catherine

A good one, St. Catherine

A handsome one, St. Catherine

A rich one, St. Catherine

And soon, St. Catherine

Add:
Who will clean, St Catherine
And not steal the covers St Catherine
Who cooks, St Catherine
Who likes to rub my feet, St Catherine
And who is smart St Catherine
And is Jude Law St Catherine.....
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

You know, I've always wondered what it looks like when St. Catherine rolls her eyes...Oh, wait, I just found out.   :o

Tabris, I am so keeping that in mind. I read the prayer, and it's beautiful.

I don't know yet that Paul is the man I want to marry, but he's got a lot of the qualities I want in that as-yet-mystery man. :D So we'll see what happens!!  :)

Nah--there's funny and there's blasphemous. People have prayed for far worse things in all seriousness.
