Holiday Card Question
Venus193:
A long time ago I started to do my cards by addressing the envelopes first, then writing out the cards. Since doing the cards is my least-favorite task this time of year this makes it go faster.
Yesterday I took the card box with me to a diner to finish the job and ended up realizing that I had written and signed the cards in a different color ink from the envelopes. Can this be regarded as rude? The envelopes are addressed in black and the cards were signed in blue.
Chocolate Cake:
Can this be regarded as rude?
No.
artk2002:
I certainly hope not!
If anybody I knew got offended because the ink didn't match, they'd be off my list faster than you can say "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds."
Venus193:
I guess what prompted this was when we signed the office cards that went to clients the admin had us all use the same pen (although I'm sure the cards were addressed by computer).
In my defense, the insides of my cards are white and the envelopes are green. I had thought about signing the cards in green, but had left my green-ink pen in the office.
CoryanderX:
Anyone who cares--or even notices--that the ink on the envelopes and inside the card is different, instead of simply appreciating that you took the time to buy, write, address and mail the cards at all, has way too much time and energy on their hands and would probably find something to be offended by no matter how much trouble you went to.
