Yahoo Avatar question
« on: April 30, 2007, 05:45:00 PM »
I just read a tag line on Save Veronica's post that says "sadly, I'm not as cute as my avatar says I am" or something to that effect. It made me giggle Pepsi up my nose but got me to thinking, NEITHER AM I! lol

It looks like me but I don't understand why there isn't a "Zaftig" or "big is beautiful" option on yahoo avatars. Am I just missing something or is there really no such option?

ps - if this should be posted elsewhere please feel free to move it. I didn't know where I should put it?

I don't know, there should be.  I am not familiar with yahoo, I don't think there is an option for my doll either.

Strange, isn't it? I mean there are gazillions of options for everything else - just not body type. Bummer!

A google search says look under plus size clothing.  It is larger than the default stuff, but not quite what I would call plus.

I don't see how to save it and upload so that I could show it here, but I hope that's clear enough.  It's under apparel.  Tops, Bottoms, Plus size are the options.

Fireweed - It looks like rain has replaced snow in your environment.

I do enjoy changing my yahoo avatar.  Midnight is always perfectly attired in her sable fur coat  ;)

I saw my first horse show last Saturday.  My "horse" friend's 2 daughters competed in something like 6 or 7 events.  I videoed them (darn if I can think of a word to replace video taped since I was using a digital video recorder) for one event & mostly missed that event since I was keeping my eye on the tiny screen instead of the big horse.  Misty's dam (mother) also competed with her new owner & I got a nice picture of them jumping.  I didn't bring Misty into the eventing area since she's still pretty green for a two year old & we wouldn't want her to "explode" and ruin someone's performance.  Some of the girls take this competition very seriously and it's just once a year.  Otherwise I would have been interested to see if Misty remembered her mother.

Big is beautful!  It took surgery to take me from "gross' to BBW.  I would LOVE to have a BBW avatar.  If you find a good place, let me know!  ;D

Wow... well this is yahoo's version of "plus sizes"  ::) Hopefully in a couple of months this will be a more realistic likeness of me again! I went into survival mode this winter and gained more than I would like. But now that the snow is gone I am way more active again so I should be back to my comfortable zone in a while. Anyway, at least I don't look so tiny on my Avatar any more. Not that petite isn't fabulous (and I would love to be a size 9 again someday but it will probably never happen and that's ok)... I just feel like I am misrepresenting myself somehow!

Hiya Midnight! Well we haven't had alot of rain but the snow has been melting so I am constantly surrounded by water. My meadow is apparently the flood ground for the river I live right next door to. Who knew? (lol) So I haven't had water actually delivered in a month now because the driveway has been under water. We've got tons of it around but we can't use any of it for anything!  :-\

The horse show sounds fabulous! I miss working and playing with the horses all the time. Maybe I will go work at the farm again this summer and have horse and cow buddies again.

Jais - unfortunately this is the best yahoo could come up with. (see below) When I have a bit more time I will look into other options and let you know what I find out. It must have taken alot of courage to have that surgery. Congrats on being a zaftig lovely, curves are beautiful and soft is sweet.  ;)

I've always wondered how those avatars work, but been too lazy to bother finding out. I prefer to make my own sig pics, anyway. Do you select various things and it makes a pic for you? Seems interesting. (I still like my Daniel and Angel pics though.)

There about a billion options you can shose from. You can have pets and props and shirts with slogans and various different backgrounds. You just can't be larger than a size 7 apparently!  ;D

I am always interested to find out what I am going to see in your sig spot T'Mar!!! I have no idea who the people are (I am a hermit and don't have cable, don't get out much! lol!) but they are cool sigs nonetheless and the quote you have on there now is ON THE MONEY!

Looks like this might be an appropriate place to say...

Thank You T'Mar!!!  I won't get any reading done because I'll be staring at David there and drooling all over my desk.   :P

That's a South African size 11, which wouldn't work for me because I'm an S.A. size 16 (12 U.S.). Bummer. 8)

Thanks. I get the idea to change that thing about five times a day, and actually have to restrain myself from changing it more than once a day as I get ideas for cooler quotes or nicer pics or better shots of Daniel. ;D

That quote, BTW, is by a guy named Keith Topping who wrote the book I took it from, Hollywood Vampire Trivia. The picture is of David Boreanaz, from Angel and Bones. I also think it's a GREAT quote!
