A few from my sister. My nephew is in NICU (he's getting bigger and bigger, yay!) and she was telling me about two sets of twins in NICU as well:
Hunter & Blade (both boys)
Phoenix (boy) & Swift (girl)

We agreed that we would have gone with Phoenix and Gryphon. ;)

I know a girl named Gryphon.  Her name really suits her and it seems like she and everyone around her likes it for her too.  I can't remember what her brother's name was but it was something normal yet fit with his sister's name.

I was watching the scrolling news feed on the tv at the gym. One sports news item read "Cautious Venter withdraws from competition" and all I could thing was "Cautious?! What a bizarre first name!". Then I realised that it was an adjective, not a name. <facepalm>

So Venting is a competitive sport now? How do I sign up?  ;)

We were traveling behind a vehicle that had one of those decals showing the sports logo of a local school team and the kids' names and jersey numbers that participate. This mother had two sons that played football. One of them had a traditionally spelled name (I don't even remember what it was, something mundane like Tom), but his brother's name was Chayne. It took us a bit to realize that it was a creative spelling for Shane.

Seen around daycare:

Areial (girl)
Cailyn (boy)

Areial looks like a misspelling of aerial.
I suppose Cailyn is an alternate spelling for Calen/Kalon but that particular spelling just looks feminine to me.

Especially since one of the Teen Moms spells hers the exact same way, only with a K...

Today, the appearance of what may be a publicity stunt, just in time for Father's Day: Groupon offers you the chance to have Groupon name your baby for $1000.

The terms of the deal are pretty explicit. Groupon will name your baby Clembough. No changes in spelling are allowed.

I've been spending a lot of time at the neighborhood park, and noticed something interesting. While the boys have traditional names, often saint's names (very Catholic area) like Michael, Patrick, and Louis, the girls have names like Ayanna, Rihanna, and Destiny. So I guess my boy names won't be too common around here!

Back OT, my hospital roommate named her daughter Mon'a - rhymes with Monet. Would not have gathered that from the spelling.

;D Ha! I didn't even read Venter as anything other than a surname (it's pronounced Fenter where I live, so I don't even see it as word for someone who vents).

Met a deaf family, with a boy baby named Niele.
How would you say that?
It seems the baby can hear.
