I have a friend with a daughter named Re'Elle.  While I like the name, I am not sure about the spelling.  It took me awhile to get used to when she was a baby.  The mom had liked the name Gabrielle and the dad didn't, but both liked the ending of it, so they came up with Re'Elle's name.  I think she (she is 11 now) likes to have her name shortened to Re sometimes.

They came up with the spelling because they wanted to be sure people could pronounce it correctly.

You mean it's pronounced like Rielle Hunter's name?

"Regina" is Latin for queen.  "Reginae" is the plural.  Not content with naming their daughter Queen, they have to make her into TWO queens! (Wonder if they're conjoined...)

I've known people whose names would have been okay if the parents had stopped at one. At summer camp, there was a girl in my cabin named Mona.

Yes, her middle name was Lisa.

I'm probably in the minority here but that doesn't bother me at all.

Me neither.

It would probably make me snicker a little, but it's not worse than Diva Muffin or Moon Unit. Although, that does make me think of my poor aunt's bridesmaid - her sister was allowed to name her, and their last name was Wood. Can you all guess what the sister named her?

Yes, my aunt's bridesmaid's parents actually let their daughter be named Holly Wood. I can't imagine the amount of jokes she got in school, since they practically write themselves with a name like that.  :(
